Rustenburg - A 38-year-old man was sentenced to life imprisonment for rape, North West police said on Tuesday.
Sergeant Kelebogile Moleko said Abram Mosete was sentenced at the Itsoseng Regional Court on Monday, for offences he committed on May 4, 2013.
She said Mosete was sentenced to four months in prison on a count of malicious damage to property, 18 months for escape from lawful custody and life imprisonment for rape.
North West Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Baile Motswenyane and management welcomed the sentence.
