A 45-year-old police officer has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a man with a knife at a shebeen in Setlopo village outside Mahikeng, North West police said on Sunday.
Captain Adéle Myburgh said the 51-year-old man was drinking traditional beer with the officer at a shebeen, about 8am on Friday.
The victim was assaulted and stabbed at the back of his left shoulder by the police officer, Myburgh said.
“Police were called to the scene and the witnesses at the shebeen pointed out the officer. He was then arrested.”
He will appear in the Mmabatho Magistrate's Court on Monday. - Sapa
