Potchefstroom - SA Federation of Trade Unions (Saftu) general secretary Zwelinzima Vavi arrived to a rousing reception at the Potchefstroom Hospital in North West on Tuesday morning.
"Leadership Dumela [ hello leader]" sang union members when Vavi entered the hall.
Vavi would later welcome members who had joined the SA Liberated Public Sector Workers Union (Salipswu) from the National Education Health and Allied Workers Union (Nehawu).
Union members clapped and whistled when Vavi was introduced.
Salipswu branch leaders vowed to expand the union to other institutions in Potchefstroom.
