Warrenton - Seven people died when their vehicle collided head-on with another vehicle on the N12 between Christiana and Warrenton, North West police said on Sunday.
Five people, travelling in a VW Jetta, and two people, travelling in a Toyota bakkie, died in the accident on Saturday afternoon, Brigadier Thulani Ngubane said.
The VW, travelling from Warrenton to Christiana allegedly had a burst tyre and swerved onto the oncoming lane and collided with the bakkie, which was travelling towards Warrenton.
“At impact both vehicles burst into flames, and all seven occupants were burnt beyond recognition,” said Ngubane.
