Three boys died when a fire broke out in a shelter for destitute children in Hartbeespoort Dam, North West police said on Thursday.
“The police received a call on Wednesday morning at 9.15am about a fire at Safe Haven that was already in flames,” spokesman Brigadier Thulani Ngubane said.
“Three boys aged between seven and 14 years old were inside and died. The cause of the fire is unknown and police are investigating an inquest docket. Police would open another case based on the outcome of these investigations.”
Ngubane said no one else was injured. - Sapa
