Kimberley – Northern Cape police have arrested a 43-year-old man in Tswelelang in Kagisho for possession of suspected stolen goods worth R60 000.

The suspect was arrested following information supplied by Galeshewe crime intelligence officers, Colonel Mohale Ramatseba said on Saturday.

The goods recovered included 16 cellphones, three tablets, two cameras, a play station, a heater, two hair dryers, nine speakers, two amplifiers, four DVD players, a flat screen TV, a sound system, two laptops, and four pots.

Northern Cape police commissioner Lt-Gen Risimati Shivuri commended the Galeshewe crime intelligence and Kagisho officers for the good work rendered.

He appealed to the community not to buy stolen goods, so that the market for stolen goods was eliminated.

The suspect was expected to appear in the Galeshewe Magistrate’s Court on Monday, pending further police investigations, Ramatseba said.
