A woman died on Friday morning when her car rolled on the R64 near Kimberley in the Northern Cape, paramedics said.

“It happened on the R64 about 20km outside Kimberley,” ER24 spokesman Derrick Banks said.

She lost control of the car around 8.30am. It rolled several times and came to rest in the middle of the road. The woman, in her early 30s, was trapped inside.

“They had to use the jaws of life and rescue equipment to extricate her from the vehicle, but unfortunately she had succumbed to her injuries.”
