I don't know why I read these stupid comments.I'm always appalled at the views of my fellow South Africans. You all complain about SA but you fail to see that the biggest problem in SA is not unemployment, not the Government, not crime but YOUR ATTITUDES! All you do is complain. And in a very racist manner. Yes you use the words "goverment" "ANC" "them" and such but what you really mean is "Blacks" I doubt any of you are ready to contribute meaningfully to South Africa. You lot are only in SA because it pays you to be there. Immigrate already, we'd be better off without you and your views, regardless of your race.

Yippeee! So nice, this is indeed a very good news - rejoicing, how I wished that the eight percent reffered to was actually an eighty percent decline by 2025. They must leave at an even faster pace, those BLOODY AGENTS and SETTLERS.

I don't think this is entirely accurate. There was an unnecessary panic and mass exodus in the early 90's and a large percentage of school leavers from my year emmigrated. Now I am discovering a lot of them have either moved back, or are wanting to move back. Consider the change in lifestyle, especially moving to the UK, from living in a sprawling suburban house in SA to a tiny, depressing, pokey flat in the UK because that is all money can get. They sacrificed their happiness and luxuries for their own ignorance and spend their days talking to other immigrants about how sh*t SA has become, to justify their moving and make them feel better. I have stayed in SA all the time and I feel much better off for it.

@Brendan and Other expats, If things are so good on the other side, why you keep comming back to have a look at IOL's news of the day. Go stick your head in BBC and Sky News, unless of course you miss us!

I’m not in the slightest bit concerned about white people leaving SA, I'm more concerned about SA working holistically. Whoever wants to leave should, we live in a democracy. Besides the white people who live here are not the alpha and omega of professionalism and skills there are plenty of people in diaspora who want to come back but haven’t found their niche here yet. Take it from a child of exile who is happy to be back, white people…. not all that!

Not that this is any new news, this must however still be music to the ANC and ever racist's ears. The ANC's racist policies and a crime rate they give lip service to, is in full swing. There was no need for a blood bath during the political transition period, just introduce racist policies like the previous government which will drive whites together with their skills away out of the country. Was it not just in 1994, that the white population stood at 5.5 million. A lot more whites would have left if they could have, including myself. At least my only daughter did, now living in a country that repects her knowledge and skills and her skin colour means squat.

I've already left. I'm safely overseas where my expertise are rewarded in Pounds not South African zimrands. if I'd known it was this good here, I would have left a lot sooner. I might return one day, when SA is worse off than Zimbabwe, when people are eating off the streets like dogs, and begging the white man to come back, I might return ... to say I told you so!! I'm originally from Zimbabwe, what's happening in SA is like a very scary de javu.

The 'come on over' attitude of the ANC to China means 12 moving into a flat for 6, excessive use of water and electricity which pushes tariffs into a higher bracket at a cost to all, wear and tear on all resources due to overcrowding and over-use. The problems are endless. Be warned. I speak from experience.
