Pretoria - Plans are underway to make Further Education and Training (FET) colleges attractive, the Minister of Higher Education and Training said on Thursday.

“One of the critical things we need to do with FET Colleges is bring them closer to employers,” Blade Nzimande told reporters in Pretoria.

He said if students could be guaranteed employment after completion of their studies, there would not be a stigma attached to the colleges.

He called on the media to help promote the colleges. He said there were people who had attended colleges and were doing exceptional work.

Nzimande said such exposure would help to attract students and make them realise colleges were creating skills.
