Johannesburg - If you’ve been harbouring dreams of becoming a multimillionaire overnight, your chance may have finally arrived.

The PowerBall jackpot has shot up to an estimated R70 million following Tuesday night’s draw.

It’s the highest jackpot ever under Ithuba, the company that runs the national lottery.

Anyone with their eyes on the enormous prize should get their six numbers ready for Friday’s draw.

“The PowerBall jackpot, which stood at R65m, eluded everyone for the 17th time on Tuesday to balloon to its highest jackpot since 2012,” said Ithuba in a statement.

“This PowerBall jackpot is the price tag put on the unique, luxurious and ultra-modern 'Glass House', which features an award-winning design, in the suburb of Rooi Els, overlooking False Bay in the Western Cape.

“The mansion will be auctioned later this month, with bids starting at R20m, after failing to attract buyers at R70m,” Ithuba said.

PowerBall and PowerBall Plus have together created 22 millionaires since June last year, when Ithuba took over as the third national lottery operator.

Tickets for the R70m PowerBall draw arecurrently on sale and can be bought at www.nationallottery.co.za or from any lottery retailer or FLASH, A2Pay and Kazang traders.

The draw will be broadcast live on e.tv at 9pm. Ticket sales close 30 minutes before each draw.
