Cape Town - The Treasury has made R800-million available for its Green Fund over the next two years, Environment Minister Edna Molewa announced on Wednesday.

Opening the debate on her department's budget vote in the National Assembly, she told MPs that the Development Bank of Southern Africa had been appointed as the implementing agency for the fund.

“The primary objective of the Green Fund is to provide catalytic finance for high quality, high impact green economy projects, and mainstreaming activities which would not have been implemented without fiscal support,” Molewa said. - Sapa
