Johannesburg - Tshwane's bus service resumes on Tuesday after it was disrupted by industrial action, the City of Tshwane said on Monday night.

“The illegal strike by workers of the Tshwane Bus Service has been called off and bus services will resume on Tuesday,” the city said in a statement.

The service's management held a meeting with the South African Municipal Workers' Union and the Independent Municipal and Allied Trade Union, where it was agreed to end the strike.

“The department agreed that contract workers whose contracts have expired can resume work while the city deals with the extension of their contracts,” the city said.

The city was also resolving maintenance issues that had affected the availability of buses. - Sapa
