Cape Town - Fifteen people were injured when a bus they were travelling in hit a road sign on Wednesday in Paarl, Western Cape, paramedics said.

ER24 spokesman Russel Meiring said the accident occurred on Swawelstert Road. “Paramedics found that a bus had left the road and had come to rest in a nearby vineyard.”

He said the 15 sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate. They were treated on scene and transported to Mediclinic Paarl and Paarl Hospital.

The cause of the accident was not yet known.
