Cape Town - Sir Ranulph Fiennes arrived at Cape Town International Airport on Thursday and was immediately whisked off to a hospital by ambulance.

He had been part of “The Coldest Journey”, an expedition across Antarctica in the dead of winter.

Airport medical services staff told the Cape Argus that Fiennes was walking and that he seemed “okay”, apart from the frostbite injuries to his hands and fingers, which were bandaged.
