Fire on slopes of Simon’s Town

Firefighters were monitoring a blaze on the slopes of Simon's Town in Cape Town on Friday, fire and rescue services said.

Spokesman Theo Layne said the fire started on Thursday night on the upper slopes.

“The fire is over an extensive area and mostly inaccessible... No property was damaged or in danger,” he said.

The cause of the fire was unknown. Two fire engines were on the scene. - Sapa
