Capetonians woke up to very cold weather this morning and this will continue throughout the weekend, with forecasts for heavy rain, rough seas and windy conditions, and even snow.

Vanetia Phakula, a forecaster at the SA Weather Service, said the service was expecting torrential rain in Cape Town, the Winelands and Overberg.

This would bring very cold weather and gale-force south-westerly winds, and there was a possibility of snow in high-lying areas on Friday and Saturday.

She added that rough seas should be expected from Lambert’s Bay to Cape Agulhas and that they would spread towards Plettenberg Bay during the day. - Cape Argus
