Durban - A worker was injured after he was struck by the hook of a crane while working on a ship in the Durban harbour, paramedics said on Saturday.

Netcare 911 spokesman Chris Botha said the incident happened on Friday night.

“It is believed that the man was working in the hull of a ship... when the hook of the crane slammed into his shoulder,” he said.

“Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the man to be in a stable condition at the bottom of the ships loading area.”

He said the man was stabilised and taken to a nearby hospital. - Sapa
