Cape Town - The body of a man was found floating in shallow waters at Camps Bay beach on Sunday, said Cape Town rescue officials.
Craig Lambinon from the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) said members of the public pulled the man out of the water and alerted rescue officials.
“When the NSRI volunteers arrived on the scene, they initiated CPR on him. Paramedics and police responded to the scene and advanced life support was continued but despite all efforts to resuscitate him, he was declared dead on the scene,” said Lambinon.
The man, aged between 60 and 70, was yet to be identified.
“There was nothing on the beach that could help to identify him,” said Lambinon.
