130606 - Cape Town - On Tuesday morning Lawrence Mandipazano, a Zimbabwean petrol attendant working at an Engen petrol station in Mitchells Plain, was assualted with a weapon by an unknown driver after a confrontation at the petrol pumps. A petrol attendant died after he was allegedly assaulted with a plank by a motorist for refusing to fill up the man’s tank.
Dramatic footage captured by a CCTV camera shows Lawrence Mandipazano being beaten unconscious with a wooden plank at the Lentegeur Service Station in Mitchells Plain at about 6.40am on Tuesday.
Mandipazano died in hospital the next day. - Cape Argus
