Two motorcyclists were killed when they were struck by a car in Rondebosch during rush-hour traffic on Friday.

Western Cape emergency medical services spokeswoman Keri Davids said a woman driving on Milner Road just before 8am had turned into Loch Road. “Her VW Polo collided with two separate motorbikes. Both (bikers) were catapulted off their bikes and were declared dead by our paramedics.”

The woman’s car had then ploughed into a traffic pole, trapping her, Davids added.

She was taken to Groote Schuur hospital with facial, chest and leg injuries and was in a serious but stable condition.
