The appeal by ANC Youth League president Julius Malema and his executive to argue in mitigation of their suspensions was granted by the National Disciplinary Committtee of Appeals (NDCA) on Saturday.
“The matter will be referred back to the national disciplinary committee (NDC)... the hearing must be conducted within 14 days,” NDCA chairman Cyril Ramaphosa said.
The NDC last year found Malema guilty of provoking serious divisions in the league's parent body, the ANC, and bringing the organisation into disrepute.
Malema was suspended from the league for five years and told to vacate his position as president of the organisation.
Malema had said the league would send a team to Botswana to consolidate local opposition parties and help bring about regime change.
Charged with him were Shivambu, deputy president Ronald Lamola, treasurer general Pule Mabe, secretary general Sindiso Magaqa and deputy secretary general Kenetswe Mosenogi. - Sapa

Get rid of him, if the heroic Julius finally gets the war his is asking for he will be the first to run crying to his mommy. South Africa does not need trouble makers and destroyers like him.

At least Julius get to live another day. We will see those who will come out to argue in favour of aggravation of sentence. The fact of the matter is that even though the NDCA tried to look respectable they still upheld some of the nonsensical findings. I hope the ANC NEC will sit down asap and review these findings which will set wrong precedent in the ANC going forward. The ANC always allowed for differences of opinion. Even though Malema holds the opinion that the African agenda is no longer a priority, honestly that is not a disciplinary offence not even to mention the comparison of ANC leaders. Many of Zuma's supporters accused former President Mbeki of being aloof and said that Jacob Zuma was consultative and a people's person. And nobody was punished for that.As to the Gigaba finding, the less said about it the better. Fikile Mbalula once called Trevor Manuel a "drama queen" and Kader Asmal even worse things but it suited the incumbents. What utter hypocrisy!
