Claim of irregularities by NDC dismissed

ANC Youth League president Julius Malema.

Argument by senior ANC Youth League leaders of irregularities by the ANC's national disciplinary committee (NDC) has been dismissed.

“The appellants stated that the NDC committed a gross irregularity in dismissing the application for quashing of the charges,” said National Disciplinary Committee of Appeal (NDCA) chairman Cyril Ramaphosa on Saturday.

“The NDCA sees no reason to vary the NDC's decision...consequently the appellants argument in this regard is dismissed.”

Last year, the NDC found Malema guilty of provoking serious divisions in the league's parent body, the ANC, and bringing the organisation into disrepute.

Malema was suspended from the league for five years and told to vacate his position as president of the organisation.

Malema had made comments about sending a team to Botswana to consolidate local opposition parties and help bring about regime change.

Charged with him were Shivambu, deputy president Ronald Lamola, treasurer general Pule Mabe, secretary general Sindiso Magaqa and deputy secretary general Kenetswe Mosenogi. - Sapa

Emerging Powers - When they discuss emerging powers the names of China, India and Brazil are frequently mentioned. We are MISSING ! It is an injustice to our potential as a nation that we are not taken seriously - reports from influential governments indicate that we have lost that "shine" we had immediately after 1994. Our government is not popular among many nations.Last week's election of AU Commission Head was a point in case.... many african countries failed to vote for us. WHY ? Our leaders has been caught in a web of "mickey mouse" politics at home and they can no longer improve our standing in the international community. You can dismiss my comments but it is a fact.

Trust SAPA to make a hash of well-known phraseology. "VARY", not "bury". Ugh. And IOL subs, which way were you looking, do you actually read SAPA's stuff before you post it?

This idiot has already done enough damage to this countries reputation - he should never be allowed near a microphone again - let alone wield any political influence.
