Ashley Hodgkinson is a deaf teacher who teaches deaf pupils. When she was working towards getting a degree her mother came to every lecture with her to interpret so she had to watch her and make her own notes. “It was very difficult. It was hard work and I needed to remain motivated but looking back at it now, I feel good.” She said she didn’t grow up wanting to be a teacher till her final year in high school.
