ANC Youth League president Julius Malema will not be removed from his position by anyone but the structures of the league, his deputy Ronald Lamola said on Thursday.
“It is only the internal process of the ANCYL that can decide to elect or un-elect leadership of the ANCYL,” Lamola told reporters at Luthuli House in Johannesburg.
“The ANCYL will never agree that its leadership be subjected to unfair and unjust treatment or banished for narrow political purposes.”
At the ANCYL's lekgotla last week, Malema said he would resign as the organisation's president if the structures of league said he should.
“All leaders of regional, provincial and national executive committees... across the country rejected the offer of ANCYL president to resign his position,” said Lamola.
He said the ANCYL's leadership would remain in place until June 2014, when its next elective conference would be held. - Sapa

@Wisdom I can’t agree with you more. I strongly hold the same view that Malema might go to Jail should his bid by the ANCYL to stay in power fail, which I think it has. Tax invention and possible fraud and corruptions charges leveled against him, I just wonder if he will be able escape all of them. Limpopo having declared bankrupt, led by his business associate, and they require R2 Billion bailout. This is certainly going to be another Jackie Selebi. From leadership position, squandering monies at the expense of the paupers and straight to a prison bed. I’m not a kind of men who delight on other men’s downfall, but we’ve got to uphold all form of a law, and be equal before the law, starting from top to the bottom.

It is very sad because we blacks afrcans in particular are divided amongs ourselves, that is y the enemy infiltrate us,now most people donate bigger picture and I blame the national leadership of the and ESP zuma for lacking wisdom and vision,DA is playing us,they made a noise about Julius because he was raising issues around capitalism, inequality and the ore he was a threat to the minirity in south Africa, then they dug into his private life until they managed to put pressure on the anc to discipline him,now here is their strategy:zuma must force malema out, then they will make sure they push him out of office,y do you think all this cases of zuma are now surfacing now???? Da is pushing it's way into the system, and we dnt realize that most blocs in south Africa are buying into their strategies, meanwhile we are fighting Julius for raising issues that will see a lot of black people released from the trap of poverty, instead of making proper research or debating his ideology, what zuma does is to play into the enemy trap by refusing to engage him politically but to exceggerate issues on discipline therefore avoiding the core of the matter,I am of the opinion that zuma must never be president in 2014 period!

Malema must go he is divisive. There will be no unity and much less else with him at the helm. Malema has no idea of what his role is as a President of the ANC Youth League...

Malema should not be given the presidency again due to lack of the respect, he should look for another carrer other than politics, he can't lead the nation with such stupid manners.

JUJU IS GOING NOWHERE,IF THE ANCYL SAYS ITS ONLY THEM WHO CAN DECIDE TO ELECT OR NOT ELECT ITS LEADERS IS SIMPLY SHOWS THAT ANC HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH ANCYL DISCIPLINARY PROCESS,I ALSO SUPPORT LAMOLA'S STATEMENT JUJU IS GOING NOWHERE,HE'S ONE OF THE YOUNG LIONS WHO DOESN',T FEAR THE SO CALLED BIG HEADED LIKE MANTASHE AND OTHERS.

Saying only the ANCYL can decide to elect or unelect its leaders is simply to say ANC discipline does not apply to the YL. It is naive to say the dicuplinary process should be subjected to the oversight of the YL. It is beyond a joke. The Youth league should "subject themelve to the guidance and leadership" of the ANC; otherwise they should form their own independent organisation

This is dictatorship at its peak. ANCYL is autonomous, but not independent like trade unions are. Maybe I should ask if I can become a member of the ANCYL and not be a member of the ANC? If this was mathematics the answer would be “it’s given”. Simple logic should state that Malema did not bring the ANCYL into disrepute, and neither did he saw division only to the ANCYL, but to the ANC, of which the ANCYL submit to. If the ANCYL refuses to let go of Malema as per the verdict both by the disciplinary committee and by the disciplinary committee of appeal, then why did they co-operate and subjected themselves to such disciplinary hearing protocols at a first place? Perhaps they should have refuted to subject themselves under the hearing. Only when the outcome becomes contrary to their expectations then they become rebellious. Ronald Lamola should watch it before he gets suspended too, or charged with contempt of the outcome of the disciplinary hearing.

This is not too good, creating division between the ANC by an disrepectful Individual with no credentials. Deformation of character (teagirl) is already a form un to it self. With no respect for anyone this person must go.

I see the ANCYL has distanced itself from the comment Joulius made at closed meeting this past weekend. I think the whole South Africa should distance itself from JM. Send him to the sun, that should be distance enough...!
