Johannesburg - There is a new blonde woman at Oscar Pistorius’s side, which makes the heads turn. This time it is not his girlfriend, but a member of his defence team.

Trim and slim Roxanne Adams has had tongues wagging since the start of the trial. Dressed in power suites, she daily takes her seat directly in front of Pistorius in Court GD at the Pretoria High Court.

Adams is a candidate attorney in the employ of Ramsay Webber Inc – the law firm representing Pistorius in his murder trial.

The 24-year-old fitness fanatic’s morning ritual is to hand a bottle of water to Pistorius shortly before the proceedings start. He, throughout the proceedings, hands her notes, which she then passes on to the mighty Barry Roux team.

Adams comes across as highly professional and does not seem fazed by the media or the cameras often focussed on her.

Although sporting a look of steel, she also appears to have concern for Pistorius who has been breaking down during the past two weeks.

Adams hands out tissues and gives encouraging whispers when Pistorius seem to need it most.

But she essentially seems to do research on aspects of the trial and take notes during the evidence of witnesses and the gruelling cross-examination by her mentor, Barry Roux.

Always looking fresh and full of energy in court, Adams describes herself on her Twitter profile as being a fitness fanatic and driven.

She says she is “working like a demon” at the moment, but that “nothing beats stress more than a session in the gym”.

She started at Ramsay Webber Inc last year, after being head- hunted on numerous occasions.

It appears from her LinkedIn profile that her career kicked off during her first year of legal studies in 2008, when she worked part-time for a law firm.

Adams definitely brings some colour to the four member defence team, and Roux has been heard on occasion to jokingly telling photographers to rather concentrate on the beauty in their team, than on them. - The Saturday Star
