Parliament - President Jacob Zuma lacked courage and sold out the revolution, Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema said on Wednesday.

“You are extremely scared of white people, especially white monopoly capital,” Malema said while delivering his maiden speech in Parliament during the debate on Zuma's State of the nation address.

Malema landed in hot water with National Council of Provinces chairperson Thandi Modise when he attacked the ANC for protecting white monopolies in the country.

“We are opposing the ANC of Marthinus van Schalkwyk and Cyril Ramaphosa,” Malema said.

An objection from the ANC benches saw Modise asking Malema to refrain from calling MPs by their names without including the honorific title.

Malema eventually included the words honourable, but the inexperienced parliamentarian again faltered when he referred to Blade Nzimande without the title.

Malema continued to insult Zuma and his ANC executive.

“No one will remember what you said last night except that we must clean on Mandela Day,” Malema said.
