Tomorrow should bring about the answer to life, the universe and everything.

It will be the 10th day of the 10th month of 2010 – 10.10.10 – which for those who are no good at maths, is 42 in binary.

And in the off-the-wall Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams, which has a massive cult following, “42” was the answer to life, the universe and everything from the universe’s biggest computer “Deep Thought”.

And while Hitchhiker’s Guide fans are already blogging about the date, the web is buzzing with tips on what to do at 10 to 10, or 10 past 10, or just 10am or pm on the 10th.

“One Day on Earth – The World’s Story is Yours To Tell” has been launched via a website which is asking for stories to be submitted “to record human experience over the 24-hour period”.

For those into prophecies, pseudo or otherwise, the day has been marked as “Humanity’s Date with Destiny”, while others are going to focus on praying for peace or reducing emissions.

All in all, the day should get 10 out of 10 for the sheer number of events taking place because of the date.

An SMS is doing the rounds about October having five Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and claiming that this happens only every 823 years.

This is apparently incorrect. - Weekend Argus
