Beirut -

Lebanon issued on Monday an arrest warrant in absentia for Syria's security chief, Ali Mamlouk, over a bomb plot, a court official told AFP on condition of anonymity.

Mamlouk is accused of involvement in a plan to plant bombs in restive northern Lebanon, which has been rocked by deadly violence spilling over from the civil raging in neighbouring Syria. - Sapa-AFP
