New York - Police say a woman holding a baby boy has plunged eight stories out of a New York City apartment window to her death in an apparent suicide - but the baby has survived.
Police found the 45-year-old woman on Wednesday afternoon. The baby was in her arms. An officer took the baby to a hospital, where he's listed in critical but stable condition.
The baby is believed to be about 10 months old. A hospital spokesperson says she has no immediate information on his condition.
Police say the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The apartment window was open and there were no signs of struggle inside.
