Prominent Bahraini blogger and human rights activist Zainab al-Khawaja, whose father is a leading dissident, is due to be released from prison on Tuesday.
Al-Khawaja's release comes after paying a 200-dinar (530-dollar) fine for insulting a public official, Mohammed al-Maskati, head of the Bahrain Youth Society for Human Rights told dpa.
She has already completed a one-month prison sentence on a separate charge of illegal assembly, but was being held until the fine was paid.
Even after her release, al-Khawaja faces further charges relating to her protest activity and is expecting to be called for interrogation soon, al-Maskati said.
Her father is activist Abdulhadi al-Khawaja who on Monday ended a 110-day hunger strike in protest at his detention.
Abdulhadi al-Khawaja, who holds both Bahraini and Danish citizenship, was sentenced to life in prison for his role in protests last year led by the country's Shiite majority to demand more rights from the ruling Sunni royal family. -Sapa-dpa
