Batman gunman James Holmes has claimed his 13th victim after pregnant survivor Ashley Moser had a miscarriage.
Moser was eight weeks’ pregnant when Holmes burst into the film’s premiere in a Colorado cinema on July 20 and opened fire, killing 12 people, including Moser’s six-year-old daughter Veronica.
Moser, 25, is still in hospital after being shot in the neck and abdomen.
Her family said in a statement: “Ashley is recovering from an additional surgery that she had this morning. Tragically, the extreme trauma she sustained also caused a miscarriage.”
Holmes, 24, is due back in court on Monday where he will be formally charged with 12 counts of first-degree murder. It is not known if he will face further charges for the death of Moser’s unborn child.
Holmes is being held in the Arapahoe County jail, where he reportedly has shown no remorse and “thinks he is in a movie”. - Daily Mail
