Rome – Former Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi required minor medical treatment for a cut to his lip after a fall, according to Italian news agency ANSA on Saturday.
"It's nothing serious. It's just a little thing," Berlusconi's physician, Alberto Zangrillo, told the agency.
The 80-year-old leader of the centre-right political party Forza Italia slipped and fell after dining with his children in the city of Portofino. He was treated in Milan, where he got stitches.
A personal friend, Massimo Mallegni, said on Saturday during a Forza Italia meeting – which Berlusconi was scheduled to attend – that the former premier would probably leave the hospital on Saturday.
