Brits bar anti-Muslim activistsComment on this story
LONDON - Two U.S. anti-Muslim activists, who hoped to join an anti-Islamist march by the English Defence League, were banned from entering Britain on Wednesday.
Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer, who co-founded the anti-Muslim group Stop Islamization of America, were hoping to join a EDL march in Woolwich, south London, where British soldier Lee Rigby was killed, Sky News said.
A spokesman for the Home Office confirmed Geller and Spencer were subject to an exclusion decision.
“We condemn all those whose behaviours and views run counter to our shared values and will not stand for extremism in any form,” he said.
“The home secretary will seek to exclude an individual if she considers that his or her presence in the UK is not conducive to the public good.” - Reuters
