Mexico City -

Mexico City prosecutors say employees of a movie theatre where a 10-year-old boy died after being hit by a stray bullet found 16 shell casings on the roof on different dates.

A statement says an employee turned in the 16 casings and told investigators it is common to find casings and holes on the roof around holidays.

Prosecutors said on Wednesday that the employee told police that on the day the child was shot his manager told him to check the roof. The statement doesn't say what the employee found.

A ballistics expert said on Tuesday that the boy was hit by a 9-mm bullet and that a second 9-mm bullet was found on the theatre's roof. Authorities are still trying to determine if both bullets were fired by the same weapon. - Sapa-AP
