Moscow - A majority of US presidential debate watchers believe that US Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton won the third and final round against her Republican rival Donald Trump.

That's according to the results of a poll carried out by CNN broadcaster and the ORC research company released on Thursday.

A total of 52 percent said Clinton was better than Trump, who was backed by 39 percent of respondents. Half of those polled acknowledged that they share Clinton's opinion on key matters, while 47 percent said the same about Trump.

According to 59 percent of the respondents, Clinton was better prepared to serve as US president against 31 percent believing that Trump's candidacy is more appropriate for the job.

On Wednesday, Las Vegas, Nevada hosted the final hour-and-a half presidential debate ahead of the election on November 8.

Previous CNN polls showed that Clinton won in the first and second rounds of the debates with 62 percent support rate in late September, and 57 percent earlier in October.
