Sydney - A missing 7-year-old girl is feared dead after she was dragged under by a 2.5-metre crocodile in a pond where she was swimming with her family, Australia's Northern Territory Police said Saturday.
A crocodile was shot dead where the girl went missing Friday at Gumarrirngbang, 350 kilometres east of Darwin.
Senior Sergeant Shaun Gill said what looked like human remains were found in the animal's stomach.
“This is a heartbreaking outcome for the family and the community,” Gill said. - Sapa-dpa
