The family of a dead boy were stunned when the two-year-old sat up in his coffin and asked for water, before laying back down again lifeless.
Kelvin Santos was declared dead on Friday at Abelardo Santos hospital in Belem, northern Brazil, and his family were given his body in a plastic bag to take home, says Brazil’s ORM website.
Mourners said he sat up in his coffin and asked for water at 3pm on Saturday, an hour before his funeral.
His father, Antonio Santos, said: ‘We thought a miracle had taken place and our boy had come back to life.’
Kelvin was taken back to hospital but doctors confirmed he was dead.
His family delayed his funeral in case he woke again, before burying him at 5pm. Mr Santos has complained to the police, alleging medical malpractice. - Daily Mail
