The affordable education loan option
New Delhi -
Judge Yogesh Khanna on Friday described the December gang-rape in New Delhi as a case of depravity that deserved the death penalty.
In his sentencing order, the judge described in detail how the men had tortured the victim, displaying what he called “extreme mental perversion.”
“The subjecting of the (victim) to inhuman acts of torture before her death had ... shocked the collective conscience,” Khanna said.
He said the increasing trend of crimes against women could be stopped only when society realised that there would be no tolerance in such “extreme cases of brutality” and therefore they required “exemplary punishment.” - Sapa-dpa
