London - A former teacher and leading member of the Paedophile Information Exchange (PIE) was facing jail on Tuesday night after admitting sexually abusing 21 boys as young as eight.

Charles Napier, 67, preyed on pupils at a Sussex prep school during the 1960s and 1970s.

He groomed boys aged eight to 13 at after-school gym classes, where they were plied with alcohol and assaulted.

Napier was convicted of indecently assaulting children in 1972 and was banned from teaching.

He went on to become treasurer in PIE, which campaigned for what it called the age of “child love” to be reduced to four.

Following the Jimmy Savile scandal, more of Napier’s victims came forward.

On Tuesday Napier was warned at London’s Southwark Crown Court that he faced jail after admitting numerous charges of historic indecent assault.

He was remanded and will be sentenced on December 23.
