File photo - Grizzly bear.
A hiker was mauled to death by a grizzly bear as he photographed it.
Richard White, 49, snapped away for at least eight minutes before the animal turned on him in Alaska’s Denali National Park.
Hikers alerted rangers after they spotted Mr White’s abandoned backpack, torn clothes and blood.
Rangers shot the bear dead and retrieved Mr White’s camera which contained photos of it grazing.
They said Mr White, who was from San Diego in California, was much closer to the bear than the quarter-mile distance required by park rules.
It was the first fatal mauling in the park’s near century-long history. - Daily Mail
