New Delhi - India's ruling Congress Party says it is trying to resolve differences with a key regional ally that has withdrawn its ministers from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's coalition government.
Dravida Munnetra Kazhagham, the party ruling southern Tamil Nadu state, says it is willing to speak with the Congress Party to resolve a dispute over the number of seats they will contest in state assembly elections next month.
Leaders from the two parties were trying to patch up differences Sunday.
Analysts say the breach stems from a telecommunications corruption scandal for which a former telecoms minister from the DMK is currently in jail. - AP
