Tehran - Iran on Friday rejected what it called “baseless charges” by the head of US intelligence, who said Iran was the only country that might mount a terrorist attack on the United States.
James Clapper, director of National Intelligence, said Tuesday in his first worldwide threat assessment since the killing of Osama bin Laden in May 2011, that the US intelligence community was “concerned about Iranian plotting against US or allied interests overseas.”
“We categorically reject these baseless charges and believe that Mr Clapper suffers from paranoia rooted in his outdated thoughts of the Cold War era,” said Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast. - Sapa-dpa
