More body parts found in MexicoComment on this story
The heads and hands of two men were found next to a bar in Mexico's violent border city of Ciudad Juarez in the latest grim discovery in the region's drug war, officials said.
The body parts were found on Monday in the bar parking lot, while the main parts of the bodies - thought to belong to a man in his 20s and another man in his 30s - have yet to be recovered and identified, according to the state prosecutor's office.
Drug-related violence in the border city of 1.3 million was blamed for about 3 100 murders last year alone, with the region a key stop on the busy route for the cartels shipping narcotics north to consumers in the United States.
The discovery came a day after the gruesome find in Mexico's increasingly brutal war between drug cartels, with 49 people killed, decapitated, dismembered then left in plastic bags on the side of a highway near the northern city of Monterrey.
More than 50 000 people have been killed in drug-related violence since President Felipe Calderon launched an all-out war against the nation's drug gangs on taking office in December 2006. - Sapa-AFP
