In Myanmar, thousands of Rohingya refugees remain stranded in squalid camps after violence left their homes destroyed.

Myanmar's government estimated at least 70 thousand people had been displaced by violence in Rakhine State in July.

Fighting began after reports a Buddhist Rakhine woman was raped and killed in May, allegedly by three Muslim Rohingya men.

Now the UN says more than 100 thousand refugees areliving in camps near the state capital Sittwe after their villages have been destroyed.

Wayne Hay reports from Sittwe, Myanmar.
