A Yemeni Shi'a muslim young boy takes part in a rally commemorating the birth of Prophet Mohammed, known in Arabic as "al-Mawlid al-Nabawi".
Islamabad -
Pakistan on Friday suspended mobile phone service in some of its cities as part of enhanced security measures on the birth anniversary of the Muslim prophet Mohammed after overnight blasts, officials said.
Two policemen and a security guard employed by a private company were killed and about 10 people were injured in two bombings on Thursday night in the southern port city of Karachi, police official Muhammad Amir said.
The first bomb was hidden in garbage, and the second one was concealed in concrete blocks. Police said the second bomb caused most of the casualties because it exploded after police and civilians had gathered to see the damage from the first blast. - Sapa-dpa
