Russian winter claims 142 lives

The death toll in Russia due to harsh winter weather has risen to at least 142 for the month of December, reported the Interfax news agency Saturday, citing the Health Ministry.

A further 1,350 people have had to seek medical attention due to the cold, reported Interfax, an increase of 200 from last reports.
