Two Bangladeshi men convicted of murder were beheaded in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, the kingdom's Interior Ministry announced.
Nujum Abdul-Sherif and Abdul-Majid Hamzah were executed in the southern city of Jizan for the murder of Mohammed Kabir, also of Bangladeshi nationality.
The two were found to have attacked Kabir as he slept, beating and strangling him, before stealing his money and mobile phones, the ministry said.
Their execution brings to 22 the number of executions in Saudi Arabia this year. Last year, 79 people were executed for crimes such as for murder, rape, armed robbery, drug smuggling and renunciation of Islam.
According to Amnesty International, Saudi Arabia carried out the third-highest number of executions worldwide in 2011, after China and Iran. - Sapa-dpa
