Thieves have stolen a trailer loaded with 5 400 bottles of Dom Perignon champagne, worth an estimated 413 000 euros ($520 000), from the French port of Le Havre, a police source said on Friday.
The thieves are believed to have hitched a tractor unit to the trailer and driven off with it it in broad daylight on Monday, while it was in a loading area at the port in northwestern France waiting to be put on a ship, the source said.
An investigation is ongoing.
