Philedelphia - A shooting at a courthouse in Wilmington, Delaware Monday ended with at least three people wounded and the shooter dead, US media reported.

The state police told AFP there was an exchange of fire in the New Castle county court, which was evacuated.

NBC TV said three people were wounded and the shooter was killed by police.

The area around the courthouse was surrounded by police, ambulances and fire trucks, televised images of the scene showed.

The Wilmington police were not able to confirm the number of victims. - Sapa-AFP
