Bogota - Two people were killed and twelve wounded after a strong explosion tore through a supermarket in western Colombia, local authorities said.

The local press reported that individuals on a motorcycle had thrown a bomb inside the store before fleeing.

Two of the injured were seriously wounded, the police chief of Quibdo told Colombia's Caracol Radio.

Quibdo is the capital of Choco province, on the border with Panama.
